Description

An original 1st stereo press of Postcard on the UK Apple label. According to the label this looks like the 5th title released on Apple Records [for you historians!]. Matrix 1/1 - 1st cut. Note that the labels exhibit the 'sold in the uk..' text atop the labels - indicative of 1st issue. Stampers 2-H/2-GR. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover with pinched spine. That's technically a mismatch - but given that the only indicator is four tiny letters on the spine.. it's a compromise which shouldn't be too hard to stomach. THERE IS NO BLACK INNER - despite one appearing in the photos.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In beautiful condition and has only seen very light use - just check out the label shots. Truth be told I have a lot of difficulty finding a decent playing example of this title. Even mint looking examples can often leave you scratching your head - and sorely disappointed. But I'm pleased to report this is the best copy I've witnessed to date. I guess part of the problem is that so much of the audio is incredibly low-key acoustic - and super revealing. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in a couple of tracks. A lot of the tracks play nice and clean - which is something I've not witnessed before. But even a copy like this, which looks like it was pressed yesterday, is not a clean player 100% of the time. This gives you some idea of just how difficult a full Ex must be to find. Tracks 3 & 4 on side 1 exhibited a bit light background. Not bad - they just won't play clean like the rest of the LP. Overall a really decent playing copy of super fussy title.
Cover (Ex-) In lovely condition with a shiny front and rear without heavy creasing or light fade [as is often the case]. A bit of laminate lift along the rear spine edge [almost obligatory]. Very little edge wear at all and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
