Mauve Sideshow; 'Dark Flowers' LP mellotron/darkwave

Mauve Sideshow appear to be the first incarnation of a linked series of American 'darkwave' outfits, including Mistress of Strands, Torn Curtain, Minus Infinity, Angel Provocateur and Thistle.  The music of the duo, who go by the name of Dusty and Treva, conjures up a pretty wild vaporous and spacy soundscape.  It's vaguely reminiscent of early '60s Sun Ra and the late '80s electro-acoustic school.  Forced Exposure had this to say about Mauve Sideshow's music;

"Treva's voice has a tremendous romanto-industrial dream tremor to it... a non-alienating montage effect that's totally third mind without "the excessively male-pud clinnical approach"

I can concur that their music is pretty wild and not like much else.  Lots of mellotron, strings and processed synthesizer and tape collage soundscapes lay down a bed for Treva's voice to swirl around in.  This record is one in an extremely limited editon that was released as a private pressing.  The covers are hand made/hand painted/hand stamped and no two were the same. Needless to say, this is an extremely rare record.  The front cover of this one features some big lipstick kiss imprints smacked (most likely courtesy of Treva herself) onto the cover as the "flowers" in the drawing.  Along with the other Mauve Sideshow LP I'm listing, most likely the rarest, and most obscure item I'm offering up in these auctions.  The record is in excellent condition.  Clean vinyl and the cover is in superb condition with only the most minor touch of wear.

I will be auctioning off a large 7” collection, some 12" records and a few select CDs over the next month or two with a bunch of great music.   Be sure to view my other auctions and check back on future listings…more great stuff to come!  This will include indie rock, plain ol’ rock, punk, psych, garage, DIY, experimental, New Zealand / Xpressway, and more.  The winning bidder will be responsible for the item price and actual (fairly calculated) shipping cost.  Winning bidders will be contacted at auction end regarding shipping options and pricing. but please feel free to direct any questions regarding shipping to me prior to auction end.

Thanks for looking!
