Description

Maximillian aka Max Crook ( Del Shannon's "Runaway" organist who played the Musitron [ clavioline ] synthesizer)

This auction includes four ( 4 ) 45rpm singles of various Max Crook outputs all graded VG or better.  First, we have on Bigtop from early 1961 "Mr. Lonely" written by Max Crook but played by and released by Johnny and The Hurricanes (Max would pump out "Runaway" with Del Shannon a couple months later!), which is autographed in silver sharpie pen by Max.  Second single under the name Maximillian is "The Breeze And I / Theme From Peter Gunn" b/w "The Twistin' Ghost" on Big Top Records from 1962, a great MOD double sided instrumental classic!  Third is MAXIMILIAN doing "Greyhound" b/w "Autumn Mood" on TWIRL Records from 1963 which also features Max on his Musitron organ playing those infamous high notes throughout.  Max's records charted in Canada on radio CHUM.  The fourth single is on DOT Records from February 1959 and is Max's first professional release on record as part of the Michigan instro combo, THE WHITE BUCKS - Max was leader of the group and plays piano on both sides, wrote both sides "Get That Fly" b/w "Orny" and does the novelty vocal bits "Get that fly!"  Lastly, a CD-R of MAXIMILIAN's output on Bigtop and Twirl Records (8 tracks, which includes the popular MOD favorite and Northern Soul classic "The Snake" b/w "The Wanderer") plus an 8x10" photo of Max from 1961 autographed in silver sharpie pen.  Max has been a personal friend of mine for two decades and I guarantee the autographs are authentic, so ..
