ADDITIONAL NOTES: 
Maxwell Davis is an unsung hero of early rhythm and blues. He produced, in effect, all of the record sessions for Aladdin records, Modern records, all the local independent rhythm and blues companies in the early 1950s, late 1940s in Los Angeles.   It was after World War Two that Davis established his key credentials as a talent scout and organiser of recording sessions. His ability as an A&R man became highly valued by the heads of such local R&B-slanted labels as Aladdin, Modern, RPM and Specialty, not least because he was capable of hiring session musicians, providing them with head arrangements, and taking the tenor solos that were then almost obligatory, whether in raucous, bar-walking mode on an up-tempo number or in more subdued fashion on a ballad or a slow blues.

.   Vinyl VG+.High gloss but tiny scratches.     Jacket - Glossy cover is in nice shape except for 3"  seam split at bottom.   

  The records are not play-graded.  They are graded visually according to the following standards:  Mint: Still sealed. NM: Record should look virtually unplayed, shiny, glossy, no visible marks. EX: Record may have a few minor marks or scratches but none that break the surface of the vinyl. VG: Record will have some scratches and/or noticeable marks. It should hopefully play through without much background noise. G: It should play through without skipping but have some background noise.Rough: We will only list the rarest records in this condition.   We do not grade album jackets but only comment on them.
