"Sweethearts Of The Air" 12 inch, 78 RPM, Black Lacquer Radio Transcription Disc From The National Broadcasting Company
This Disc contains two excerpts from the March 28, 1939 radio broadcast
Side one contains the opening of the radio program ("The Sky Is Royal Blue?" theme) and the song "When Day Is Done" with vocal by May Singhi Breen & Peter DeRose, piano by Peter DeRose and ukulele by May Singhi Breen. The song is dedicated to Paul Whiteman as March 28th was his birthday. This side is just over 4 minutes
Side two features the song "Deep Purple" played on piano by Peter DeRose. This song is also dedicated to Paul Whiteman, this time introduced by May Singhi Breen, and it is mentioned that this song was written by Peter DeRose for Paul Whiteman. The song is complete, however the last 25 seconds are effected by some large scratches that are is visible in the photos. It looks like the disc was deliberately damaged, possibly to avoid being replayed. Total time on this side is just under 4 minutes
Except for the damage on the last 25 seconds at the end of side two described above, the disc is in Excellent- condition with Excellent+ sound
