Description
This is a rare, first pressing and sealed Triple Live album of Paul McCartney & Wings entitled, "Wings Over America". This original first pressing album was released in 1976 and it is now 42 years old and was released on MPL/Capitol Records SWCO-11593 in NM- condition overall.
This was a phenomenal triple album set that captured the legendary tour that brought Paul back to the States on a huge Wings tour. Most young Americans had never seen him before in concert (as he had not toured the States since 1966 with The Beatles) and it was many of our first live encounter with him and his terrific band. I know because I went to this show in Detroit in May of 1976. Let me tell you, it was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen out of the 600+ concerts I've attended. Still, one of my favorite live albums of all time. Many of you may have also attended one of the venues on this tour!
This sealed album has tight shrink wrap all around with four nice corners. Being that this is a sealed tri-fold 3-album set, it is massive and very heavy. There is standard minor corner rubs that are always present on these giants.
The shrink is solid all around and there are no tears or holes - just a hint of about 1/2" minor shrink opening about 3/4 the way down on the mouth (as this puppy is about half an inch thick to begin with) and and just a tiny 1/4" slit at bottom of mouth. All in all, very beautiful and so rare to find like this. Hard core McCartney & Wings collectors always gravitate towards this legendary live album for their collections.
There are no saw marks, cuts, promo holes, clips or any detractors on this sealed gem. It does have an original Amoeba price tag on it for $19.98 in the upper right corner on the front cover. There is also a gray and black round Nice Price sticker on the upper left corner promoting over 1 million sold (Bestseller).
This is a fantastic find for a Beatles, McCartney, Wings or sealed LP collector!
I have described this total LP as accurately as possible and it will be a fantastic addition to any collector's records. I'm quite strict about my grading.
