Description
These items are from my personal collection, accumulated over a 55-year period. This lot contains both records and sleeves (described separately below). The sleeves have been stored without the records since my original purchase. Records and sleeves are visually graded, by me, based on Goldmine grading standards. I try to grade conservatively.
Paul McCartney - My Brace Face/My Brave Face (US, Record/Picture Sleeve, Capitol, B-44637, White Label PROMO) Sleeve Sides A and B are graded Excellent, with light wrinkling along the top edge and some evidence of inner-outer ring "presence". The record is a White Label PROMO (see photos) with with the same song on both sides. Both sides contain "Not for Sale" text. Record is graded Excellent-to-Mint-.
Paul McCartney - This One/The Long and Winding Road (version) (UK, Limited Edition, Still Sealed, includes 6 color postcards, Parlophone, RX 6223) The sleeve is graded VG+. There is some compression/wrinkling along all four edges. Since everything is still sealed, I have to assume that the record is "manufacturer's mint", as are the 6 postcard inserts.
Paul McCartney - Getting Closer/Spin It On (US, PICTURE SLEEVE ONLY, Columbia, 3-11020) Sleeve Sides A and B are graded VG+, with some wrinkling along the top edge and on the corners outside the outer ring.
Paul McCartney - Only Love Remains/Tough On A Tightrope (US, PICTURE SLEEVE ONLY, Capitol, B-5672) Sleeve Sides A and B are graded VG+ with some light outer ring "presence" (and a little scuffing at the top edge), plus a small blemish to the right of the heart on Side A and, on Side B, some evidence of outer-ring "presence" and light scuffing.
Paul McCartney - Mull of Kintyre/Girls School (US, Record/Picture Sleeve, Capitol, 4504) Sleeve Sides A and B are graded VG. There is some scuffing/discoloration on both sides of the sleeve (worse on the B-side) and some outer-ring "presence". The record is graded M-, with some cleanable dust.
Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmastime/Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reggae (US, Record/Picture Sleeve, Columbia, 1-11162) Sleeve Sides A and B are graded VG+, mainly due to some evidence of outer-ring "presence" and very light wrinkling at the corners. The record is graded M-, with some cleanable dust.
Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmastime/Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reggae (UK, Record/Picture Sleeve, Parlophone, R-6029) Sleeve Sides A and B are graded VG+, mainly due to some evidence of outer-ring "presence" and a crease in the Side-A lower-left quadrant, as well as some wrinkling along the Side-A top edge . The record is graded M-, with some cleanable dust.
The auction starting price is set to primarily cover postage and insurance. I believe in the free market system. My main interest is in getting these items into the hands of a serious collector. The law of supply and demand will take care of the rest.
