For sale here is a VERY rare LP. the FIRST released in 1970 (especially in this condition) by McDONALD and GILES called " McDONALD and GILES " and is an ORIGINAL 1970 UK STEREO 1st Pressing on the 1st Press PINK ISLAND label. THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. THIS IS EASILY McDONALD and GILES RAREST LP EVER, AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE (not in this condition!!)... TRY AND GET HOLD OF ANOTHER ONE!..NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN STUNNING!! CONDITION...(have a look at my photo's) THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK 1970 STEREO 1st PRESSING ON THE 1st PRESS PINK ISLAND LABEL. 1st PRESS A-2U / B-2U MATRIXES, AND 1st PRESS ERNEST J. DAY GATEFOLD SLEEVE  ...THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE RECORD...this is the ORIGINAL PINK ISLAND UK 1st pressing from 1970 and is in STUNNING!! condition!..The record is pressed on a slab of THICK black quality vinyl. The Cat no. is ILPS- 9126 on the 1st press PINK ISLAND label...(have a look at my photo's) and is a UK STEREO 1st Pressing..

Labels are the sensational pink ISLAND format in excellent++ condition!!.With the ISLAND logo below the spindle hole on both labels to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity. Has only 2 or 3 very minor spindle lines, to indicate that the record has possibly only had 2 or three very careful plays!! With NO damage of any kind.NO graffiti , NO rips, NO tears, and NO sticker marks whatsoever!!! and would therefore grade as excellent++.

Vinyl

Thickly pressed heavy weight vinyl pressing with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic . Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees, There are NO surface marks,NO scratches or blemishes at all!! NO tiny faint wispy lines are visible whatsoever!!.A stunning visual and impossible to locate in this condition!!!.Would therefore grade as near as mint!! (if not mint!!)

Sleeve

First issue Ernest J. Day gatefold sleeve is Showing only a very very mild sign of storage wear at the edges and corners. The sleeve has NO rips, NO tears, NO graffitti or stickers whatsoever and is a pleasure to view.The sleeve is in excellent condition!!! and a Fantastic collectors item. The wide Spine is perfectly straight and clearly legible. This is a fine example of this sensational ISLAND classic.

"Suite In C" was written by Ian McDonald in Detroit, Los Angeles and Earls Court between December 1969 and February 1970. "Is She Waiting?" was written in Earls Court in the summer of 1969, between King Crimson gigs. "Birdman" was mostly written in the spring of 1968, except for the "Birdman Flies!" section in 1970. The original idea was from Peter Sinfield.

"Tomorrow's People" was written by Michael Giles in 1967, and expanded and arranged in 1970. The song was dedicated to Tina and Mandy, his children.

The lyrics for "Birdman" begin "Long ago / In Walthamstow". Walthamstow Marshes was the location of Alliot Verdon Roe's attempts to build and fly his early aeroplanes. (A.V. Roe was the first British aviator and founder of Avro Aircraft Company).
