The Family Prayer
The McKamey Family Singers have been singing together for more than 12 years. They are the children of Reverend and Mrs. Ed McKamey, and during the twelve years they have traveled many miles, singing for the Glory of God and the up-building of His Kingdom. The father of the children is a Baptist minister and has been preaching for 30 years. He has been a great source of inspiration to his children in their personal life and has certainly helped them in their Christian life. Mrs. Ed McKamey, the mother of the children, has been an eternal source of inspiration to her children as they travel the many miles over the country.
For this reason, the children would like to dedicate this, their first, long-playing album to their father and mother, because it is through their help and many prayers that this work of faith is possible.
Dora, the oldest of the McKamey children, sings the lead and has written and arranged many of the songs they sing. Carol sings tenor for the group and has been singing with them since she was 6 years old. Peggie adds the alto touch to the group and is married to Ruben Bean, who gives the bass tones to the quartet and also plays guitar.
This family is bound together, not only by their family ties but by a great faith in God. They are Sisters and Brothers in real life and Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
