Description
Original 1985 Sire pressing.
"How Soon Is Now?" is here, unlike the original Rough Trade UK release.
Outer sleeve has minor general wear, minor ringwear, I mean everything wrong with it is minor, it does have some sticker residue on it but not terrible, it's a really nice copy, Original lyric inner is here, and it's not splitting, it's just fine. This can all be seen in the pictures.
Record itself I think I cleaned it like a month ago so I just threw it on the ole turntable to listen to it and see how it sounded. I'd say light crackling in the beginning of songs, or in very quiet portions of the music. If the song is normal, no extra-quiet parts, like "Nowhere Fast" for example, you can't hear anything but the music. no pops, nothing really remarkable that I would say is significant. It's a used record, it's been played but definitely not abused. Only thing worth mentioning is during Barbarism there's like a light "thump" and it happens 3 times, as the record revolves, then that's it.
To me this is the best Smiths album, and it's my favorite album by any artist. That being the case, I had a few copies of it and I guess I played those more than I played this one because as I said, this one sounds really nice, and not beat up.
So anyhow after I listened to the whole thing I cleaned it again on a Record Doctor machine, so it maybe sounds actually better than what I described earlier.
If you're ever looking to make yourself feel bad or inadequate about what you've accomplished as a person, or where you are in this life by age 20, or 30, or 40 or whatever, remember that Johnny Marr wrote this stuff when he was I guess 21 or 22. I mean wtf
So again- it's the best Smiths album, maybe hopefully it ends up being the greatest album you ever heard as well.
