Meat Puppets "In A Car"
First Pressing -- includes original artwork by the Band!
In 1981, before they signed with SST, the Meat Puppets put out a 7-inch record that included five songs. This record, in an extremely limited edition of only 1,000 copies, was released on the World Imitation label and included original, hand-drawn artwork by the band members inserted into each sleeve. The record was later re-released by SST in 1985. These first pressings, including the artwork, are extremely hard to find and much sought-after by collectors.
This record is in NM-M condition, and has been played only once or twice. The artwork comprises three pen and ink drawings -- presumably one by each member of the band -- on a piece of 8.5-by-11-inch, 3-hole, lined notebook paper, two on one side of the paper and another, featuring the words "astro-cretin" on the reverse side. The artwork is also in NM-M condition and looks as if it were folded and stuffed into the sleeve by one of the band members only a few days ago.
