The BEATLES "Meet The Beatles" MONO T-2047, Capitol Rainbow Label: No BMI or ASCAP credits, East Coast Pressing RIAA #2.
They say a picture is worth one thousand words...but some pictures don't tell the whole story, so please read my item description & condition below as well as my terms of sale.
ITEM DESCRIPTION & CONDITION: The BEATLES first LP release in the USA on Capitol Records "Meet The Beatles" this copy is either an undiscovered anomaly, or it is a collection of mismatched pieces or at least it is according to the experts...let me explain as follows:
1) The vinyl disc itself T-2047 is obviously one of the very first versions released on January 20, 1964 having the Capitol Rainbow Labels lacking the the publishing print "BMI" or "ASCAP" on both sides. Only the first 200,000 copies were pressed in this manner and all subsequent issues added the publishing print. Additionally, a machined stamped triangle with the initials "IAM" indicates that the record was pressed at the Scranton, Pennsylvania (East Coast) plant. For its age the condition of the vinyl disc is actually pretty good having several very light scuffs and/or scratches nothing deep that would affect the play quality. The labels too are in pretty good shape having a couple scratches and a few scuff marks around the spindle hole...see photos.
2) The protective inner sleeve is an east coast copy numbered 12-TC-1. It is Royal Blue (Purple) in color, as it should be, however, it has a 'curved' top opening when it should have a straight top opening since only the west coast copies numbered LA 12-TC-1 are supposed to have a 'curved' top...I can't explain it. The condition is very good.
3) The Album Cover/Jacket is an RIAA #2 (East Coast) copy with no George Martin credit on back which is considered to be a second press copy from early February 1964. The cover is definitely the week spot of this item it has water stains, bent corners and partially split seams in three spots. On the bright side there is no writing and the front slick is pretty well centered...see photos.
In conclusion; Since the first press issue covers are supposed to be an RIAA #3 (East Coast) copy either the original cover was replaced or at least one, and possibly more, first pressing vinyl discs made their way into second pressing covers which isn't that far fetched and is totally believable. Therefore, I believe this ensemble is an accurately complete first pressing...see the photos and judge for yourself.

PACKAGING: 1) Opened record albums; The vinyl record disc itself is removed from the album cover/jacket to prevent damaging the cover during shipment. If the item includes a specialized or custom inner sleeve, the vinyl record disc is removed from the original inner sleeve and placed in a generic inner sleeve. The album cover, the vinyl record disc and any/all inserts will be placed in a top-load style plastic sleeve which is placed in a pre-formed corrugated mailer along with any necessary packing material for shipment. 2) Unopened (sealed) record albums; Sealed items will remain unopened and are placed in a top-load style plastic sleeve which is placed in a pre-formed corrugated mailer along with any necessary packing material for shipment.
