Description

This is a really RARE album, with the blue stamp of: PROMOTIONAL - NOT FOR SALE  on the back cover. So this has to be an early version made, to get the record promoted out to the masses. I have not seen any other albums of this year, with this stamp, up for bid or sale elsewhere.

 This is the RARE second-label issue that has only 1 BMI credit on the label (following “I Want to Hold Your Hand”). All other song titles are listed as ASCAP.

This is a number 6, manufactured in Los Angeles, CA  where I am told that only 20% of these records were made in early 1964.

There are NO “Produced by George Martin” or BMI/ASCAP credits below the liner notes on the back cover.
(By the way the Scranton mfg is the small number ‘3’ on the lower right corner, identifying it as being manufactured in Scranton, PA. This one is a 6, L.A., CA)

It is the ORIGINAL 1964 Capitol release, 2nd edition, and not ‘new,’ ‘remastered,’ ‘reissued,’ Parlophone, Apple, etc., and has NO SUBSIDIARY listed.

The Jacket is in VG condition. Just a few small specks on the front cover (for those concerned about perfection)
The vinyl record is in VG condition. No hard scratches.  Just some light light scratches from inserting into cover, etc.
It has been played, and sounds good, for MONO.

Ask me any questions you have on this.  This will be shipped in a double protective box, and insured. Other than destroyed in shipment (unlikely), I just can't accept returns.

This is truly a rare find, and something you will want in your collection.
