Description

Meet the Beatles vinyl album Scranton factory number 2 designation. Condition is "Used".

This is a rarer Stereo version. Look up on Youtube if you do not know - tons of info there. And, I have read also that stereo is more rare than mono in early pressings like this. This was my parent’s and then mine when I got my first record player in 4th grade.

This album plays great for its age. Please note the number 2 on lower rear cover. It denotes the Scranton plant, which is apparently more coveted to collectors. I collect, but also buy to listen. It also has its original inner sleeve, though I keep it in a Diskeeper anti-static sleeve. It is its age and I have rated it good since I am not a professional, but it plays much better.

It has no credit for George Martin, which is also a collectible detail. See pictures for quality of the record. I have cleaned it once in VPI machine followed by distilled water. I play it on new version Rega p-6 through Jolida phono preamp and sounds great (still its age, though), your mileage may value or you may just collect and not play. I use a dynavector cart. Inner groove side 1: ST-1- 2047-W1 “I Am” written in triangle then an & sign. Side 2: ST-2-2047-W1 and same “I Am” in triangle and & sign. The vinyl is really good with few light scratches. See inner sleeve picture as well - Discogs shows it as original insert, so I believe it and don’t think it was ever mixed up with the inserts of the rest of my Beatles collection. This record still sealed with the #2 bottom rear of jacket is over $1900 on a rare records sight, but my version is well-loved, not sealed. Please feel free to ask any questions. The outer cover shows age on spine (see pics) but looks and feels better than pictures show. No ringwear, just slight outside edge tears.

Shipping is $10 Media Mail and insured. I will mail it out the first business day after auction’s end. Enjoy looking. I will be selling other albums as I thin out my collection in the coming days and weeks.

I am a retired teacher, not a business, so sales will be final and my auctions are always honest. I will communicate in a timely fashion if you have questions. I am not a Beatles expert but there is a wealth of information online. Thanks again for looking. Please feel free to make an offer as well. If you are into quadraphonic - I will be selling off some of my second system soon, including dbx switchers, snr-1’s, a qt-1, and a modern zektor switch box for starters. Have a great day!
