Description
Published in 1979 on the Tic Toc label, this self-penned stereo recording from Stacey Road Studio, Cardiff, gave Meic the opportunity to re-record his early hits on one album. He used his faithful early backing musicians namely, Heather Jones (backing vocals), Richard Dunn (keyboards), Arun Ahmwn (drums), Roger 'Noddy' Gape (bass) and John 'Rubble' Roberts (Tenor Sax).
Songs include:-
- Tryweryn
- Mwg (Smoke)
- Yr Eryr a'r Golomen (The eagle and the dove)
- Tyrd i lawr drwy'r ogof (Come down through the cave)
- Heddiw ddoe a fory (Today, yesterday and tomorrow)
- Lan a lawr (Up and down)
- Nid yfi yw'r un i ofyn pam (I'm not the one to ask why)
- Merch o'r ffatri wlan (Girl from the woolen factory)
- Gwely Gwag (Empty bed)
- Can Walter (Walter's song)
Included inside are some copies of handwritten notes completed by Geraint Jarman (of Bara Menyn and then husband to Heather) giving a personal perspective of some of the songs. I will be happy to translate these for a non-Welsh speaking auction winner if requested.
Vinyl is in pristine condition. The sleeve shows minimal shelf wear.
This is a rare and much sought after record. It is valued in the 2006 edition of the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide at £220.
Thanks for your interest.
Item will be posted in proper stiffened mailer.
