Description
Up for sale is a record with the Buddy label and credited to Memphis Melody Boys.
Buddy 8005 Washboard Blues/Creole
Condition: Both sides look about E- but play is around a V. I suspect this isn't all wear but what was produced with the
audio recording techniquse of the day. Very likely a Gennett product. There are a number of aluminum distributors listed around the edge of the label. Not too long ago researchers of old recordings had turned up so few records on this label there appear to be gaps in the number listings but it wasn't known if the missing may simply not have been used. I know one thing: I used to look at 78 listings in magazines and the Buddy label would seldom turn up as I looked through tens of thousands of recod brands from 1920s - 30s.

The grading system I use has been in use for many years in jazz collecting circles and applies to the above:
N- Very close to being in original new condition.
E+ Very good condition with little or no wear.
E Not perfect-a little wear is visble or noticable, yet quite desirable
E- Only a bit above average. Light noise fairly easily heard, but not distracting
V+ A bit below average. Noise apparent, but not really ruining listening.
V Noise is more heavy than average and an issue
V- Noise is heavy, nearly drowning out music
G+ to G- Wear of record is so loud it spoils any music coming through.
F Record will probably not play due to extensive damage.
