Mendelssohn Symphony 3 Maag Orig Aust Decca SXLA 2246 WB
"Mendelssohn in Scotland"
The London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Peter Maag performs the “Symphony No. 3” and “Fingal’s Cave” by Mendelssohn. An Australian stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXLA 2245 stampers 1E/1E) the labels are orange and silver with “Original Recording by…” at 10 o’clock, Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound logo, and fatband and this is a pancake pressing. The record is of excellent appearance plays and sounds superb with some surface noise. The cover has rubbed with a ring and some creases, a small tear on the left-hand edge, and there is tape along the foldovers on the back.
