J.S. Bach: St. Matthew Passion
Willem Mengelberg conducts the Concertgebouw Festival, soloists and choir. Historical recording from Palm Sunday 1939.
Philips 50s mono-pressing with plum/silver "Minigroove"-label. It cannot be determined from the label whether trhis is a Dutch or a German pressing. 3LP-Box with booklet.
- Condition Box: Strong VG+. No splits, but box has light moisture-damage on back. Was probably stored in a cellar.
- Condition Vinyl: NM. Played once or twice. Astonishingly well preserved.
- Condition Booklet: EX. Light cellar-smell.

About my record-grading:
All records are described as accurately as possible and I will always prefer a more detailed depiction of the actual status, but usually I’ll only visually grade the records.
Please note that old records that were stored in shelves for a long time might have static noises even if they still look like new. Professional cleaning will almost always solve that problem.
Dust on records will generally not influence my gradings but if records appear to have stronger signs of soiling, I will give them a professional cleaning and playgrade them to get a more objective view on what their condition is actually like.
