Description

  • Mercury 1959 Living Presence Stereo 2 LP box set of Donizetti’s “Lucia Di Lammermoor” (Mercury SR2-9008, deep groove maroon labels, FR3/FR1/FR3/FR3, Indiana), Orchestra and Chorus of La Scala, under the direction of Nino Sanzogno. Included is a 24 page illustrated libretto.
  • Featured performers are: Giuseppe Di Stefano, Renata Scotto, Ettore Bastianini, Franco Ricciardi, Ivo Vinco and Stefania Malagu.
  • The LPs are visually near mint with just a few superficial marks and sleeve scuffs. There is some light surface noise noticeable primarily at the lead-in dead wax of each LP and a few other quiet passages. Side one has a few light “tics’ also at the lead-in dead wax. None of this is overwhelming but it might bother some bidders so please do not bid if you are looking for absolute audiophile sound. The box is near mint with one small tear on the back edge. The 24 page booklet is near mint.
