Description
Mercury Living Presence SR2-9013 Antal Dorati and the LSO performing Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. Extremely rare white label promo copy. RFR-1 on all four sides. When Sid Marks reviewed this two record set for the Absolute Sound he mentioned some pressings had the bass foundation and some didn't. Having auditioned a number of copies of this release I've found that only the earliest pressings were cut with the full bass foundation. If you examine how close to the label this copy is cut, and compare it to a later pressing, you'll see the later pressings are compressed.
Cover is NM. Record play grades NM on my Basis/Benz/Levinson/Wilson system. While there are quite a few copies of this record in circulation, this one must be heard to be believed.
