WOW! Here's an album you certainly don't see every day! Recorded by fans from soundboard recordings, "Live - From the Depths of Hell" is a testament to everything that Mercyful Fate brought to the stage in the early 1980s!
One copy is for sale right now on Discogs for $ 145.66 US, and recent copies on eBay have brought that much and more!
This is a first (and ONLY!) pressing of the album - side A reads "SN2 - A - L"; side B reads "SN2 - B - L".
Released in 1984, "Live - From the Depths of Hell" has earned a 4.33 out of a possible 5 from reviews on Discogs.
This copy has a great cover, with a few creases on the corners and a disc that is quite good. There are a few spindle marks and light scuffs and scratches, but, then again, consider by whom and where this LP has been played? In its 27 years of life? Nearly 30 years of heavy metal love?
Come on - this album is a testament to an era, a genre, a way of life, a philosophy, a religious point of view – you name it - this album touches so many folks on so many levels, it is only going to increase in value over the ages.
And I guarantee you this - they may offer this music on downloads, they may offer this on iTunes, but this album is real, you can hold it in your hands, play it, listen to it, keep it, treasure it, sell it or destroy it!
The trick is this: all this only works if you buy it!

Title Label Cat# Country Year Live From The Depths Of Hell (LP, P/Unofficial) Satan's Nightmire SN1002 UK 1984Mercyful Fate was formed in 1981 in Copenhagen (Denmark) on the ashes of the Punk/Metal bandBrats, by vocalist King Diamond (ex-Black Rose) (real name Kim Bendix Petersen) and guitaristHank Shermann (real name Rene Krolmark). After going through some lineup changes (see the liner notes in 'Return of the Vampire' for more info) the 'classic' lineup was born, with the addition of guitarist Michael Denner (also formerly of Brats) and bassist Timi "Grabber" Hansen (the two were members of a band/project called Danger Zone at the time, King and Hank used to help them), as well as drummer Kim Ruzz who quickly replaced Nick Smith (Danger Zone's drummer).
The band put out three releases - the self-titled EP (nicknamed 'Nuns Have No Fun'), 'Melissa' and 'Don't Break The Oath' - which cemented their status in the metal underground and the emerging black metal scene. In 1985, citing musical differences, the band split up
Mercyful Fate is a heavy metal band from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band was formed by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann in 1981 from the ashes of their previous band, a punk/metal combo called The Brats. The original MF line-up also shared members with another Copenhagen band, Danger Zone, whom Diamond and Shermann were helping out. By 1982, the "classic" Mercyful Fate line up of Diamond, Shermann, guitarist Michael Denner (ex-Brats and Danger Zone), bassist Timi "Grabber" Hansen (Danger Zone), and drummer Kim Ruzz was in place. Over the next couple years, the band would release an EP and 2 LPs that would cement their reputation as one the most influential metal bands of the early 1980s. King Diamond's blasphemous lyrics and theatrical stage presence would have many label the band as part of the 1st wave of black metal, although musically the band was closer to the style of Judas Priest or Iron Maiden. The group split in 1985, as Shermann decided he wanted to pursue a more commercial direction.
Formation (1981-1982)
Mercyful Fate was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1981[citation needed] from the remaining members of Hank Shermann's band Brats and King Diamond's band Black Rose. In early 1981 they helped out Michael Denner with demos for his band Danger Zone. Soon, Shermann, Denner, Diamond, and Denner's bass player Timi Grabber realized their potential as a unit and started performing as Mercyful Fate. The band experienced the usual member changes for a new band, as Denner left (and later returned). In addition, the drummer position was a revolving door, but Kim Ruzz finally established himself as the drummer.

OUR GRADING SCALE FOR RECORDS:
"Sealed - Mint" (M): When someone says something’s “Mint condition,” this is what they’re talking about. The album is sealed in its original packaging and has never been played. Period.
"Mint" (M-): This is the highest grade for a records that has been played. The album is in excellent condition and shows no visible signs of wear or damage that will affect sound quality.
"VG++": The condition is very good, but there may be slight ring or cover wear, the cover may have minor seam splitting or the vinyl may have light visual marks. There could be slight surface sound.
"VG+": The LP vinyl may have light scratches or other visual blemishes, but should play through without skipping or repeating. Light surface noise and/or crackle may be present. Covers may have moderate ring and/or edge wear, cut-outs / hole punches, or a moderate seam split.
"Good" and below: We consider any item graded at or below "Good" as something you don't want and we won't offer! The sound quality is low and the cover may be in very poor shape. We only offer albums rated VG and above unless a record is so rare that its presence in the collection transcends the poor quality of the vinyl or cover.
Note: Our grading system is not based on the Goldmine system. If you have any questions about the grading of a specific item, please don't hesitate to ask.

Worldwide, I ship either USPS First Class or USPS Priority Mail. Import duties, taxes and fees are the responsibility of the buyer. However, I cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
Return Policy: No returns. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible. This is a used, 40+ year old LP, and while it is in great condition, it is not and can not be perfect. No returns, but if you bid and win, you'll be pleased. I've gone to a "no returns" policy because many folks have started buying items on eBay and then complain and ask to return an item, hoping sellers will offer a partial refund instead, thereby lowering the price paid. I am accurate in my descriptions and I will answer any questions and post additional pictures to help anyone decide whether or not to move forward.
Thanks for looking, and for reading this far. Check out my other auctions. This week, I'll list turntables, LPs, and antique fishing equipment from my Dad's estate.
Questions: Please ask! Write with questions - I'll answer promptly and post for all to see. Check my feedback and bid with real confidence.
