Description
This 78 is from the personal collection of Northwest Promoter Pat Mason. Pat was a booking agent and also owned several clubs in Oregon. This was most likely from his Wagon Wheel Park. It is signed in white "To Pat Mason Nice to work for you- Merle Travis". Jeff has had it since the 80's or early 90's when he used to visit Pat in Seaside Oregon.
Pat also owned The Cascade Club (1947-1974) in Springfield Oregon ( a major N.W. agent and promoter (Far West Amusements). Pat booked national acts and N.W. local bands to perform primarily on the weekends. The Cascade Club was mostly closed during the week and served as a recording studio under Lavender Label with layover for traveling bands Pat was booking. It has been noted that if a recording artist had a record being played on top 40 radio in the 60's they probably performed at The Cascade Club including Gene Vincent, Willie Nelson, Carl Perkins, Clayton Watson and too many others to name) and The Wagon Wheel Park.
Record has lots of scratches, scuffs and wear. Plays great on my player with light background noise.
