Description

This is Hollywood Records LP-501, Merry Christmas Baby, a red, deep groove label, original mono issue of this beautiful but obscure Christmas blues recording featuring the above named plus Mabel Scott, Lloyd Glenn, Johnny Moore and the Blazers, Jimmy Witherspoon and the Jackson Trio.  The record is in VG+(+) condition, (a strong VG+) showing some marks at the beginning of side 1 but playing quietly except for some occasional  background rumble probably caused by the pressing. The original cover has some shelf wear and tear and name in marker on the back. The labels are excellent and show light spindle marks. This is a fine copy of this wonderful, obscure original issue. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12.  Please check our other listings as we discount shipping for multiple orders. Thanks for looking.
