One of the "biggest" recordings you will ever hear, this is the Decca recoding of Dorati at baton over the Nat'l Symphony Orchestra, playing Messiaen's LA TRANSFIGURATION DE NOTRE SEIGNEUR JESUS CHRIST.
Frankly, the scale of this is unheard of.
Seven virtuosos were called into Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, among them Janos Starker, Yvonne Loriod, Wallace Mann, Loren Kitt, and others. That said, the efforts in the audio capture, with Kenneth Wilkinson at the sound console, are second to none and recognized on the TAS list as one of the finest recordings of all time in the classical arena.
A stunning bit of recorded literature: Here in a box that has two split corners; inside, are 2 ffrr UK pressings in near-mint playing condition.
Without question, one of the finest picks on the TAS list, bar none.
