Description
Up for auction is a second or third pressing of the original Metal Massacre LP. I'm honestly not sure which one this is because documentation of various version releases of this record don't really give a definite version number for this specific release. What I can tell you is that this is an early pressing of the record. I know this because it contains a song by the band "Ratt" which was removed in later pressings.
This record is famous mainly because it contains the first official recording of Metallica. What's even more special is this line of Metallica is the original lineup up James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Ron McGovney, and Lars Ulrich.
Again, this is not the first pressing of the record which had tracks by the bands Ratt and Steeler. The first pressing also misspelled Metallica's name as "Mettallica". Additionally the first pressing was done by Metal Blade Records. The pressing is by Metalworks Records.
The record itself is in really good condition save for a bit of dust on it. I've personally never played it. The white paper sleeve is in decent condition also. The outer dust sleeve is in good condition for being as old as it is. It's not without its blemishes though. There are creases on the cover as pictured. The record is still in part of its original cellophane wrapping which is why it's shiny in the pics.
