Description
*I am currently selling a collection of Heavy Metal and rock LPs, predominantly from the late 70’s to the early 90’s but with the odd outlier thrown in. All well looked after and some real rarities. I combine shipping and always remove the vinyl from the sleeve before packing and posting. Where anything other than a generic white inner is present, the vinyl is always placed in a brand new white inner to preserve the original. Brand new ‘clear glass’ plastic sleeves are added to all LPs. I describe items accurately as I know how disappointing it is to receive a much anticipated record where flaws have been glossed over or gone unmentioned. I try to listen to each record before describing it but if I don’t have time I will listen to selected parts to gauge the level of background noise and I will always listen to any passages where there are surface marks to judge the impact these have. I always give positive feedback after payment so the customer is able to give feedback purely judged on the service once they have received the item. 1st UK pressing of Metallica’s self titled fifth album.
Released when vinyl sales were going into decline, not huge amounts were pressed and this double album is now quite scarce.
According to discogs there were two 1991 pressings of this album in the UK, the first was stamped A2,B2,A1,B1 the second variant was stamped A2,B2,A1,B2.
The copy listed is the first ‘B1’ variant and as such the true first pressing.
The sleeve is easily in Excellent condition, a really vibrant and robust copy with square spine and no ringwear - unusual to find in this condition. Only very little handling or storage wear.
The inners are excellent with no splits and again, very little handling wear.
The records are also excellent. The audio is strong - amazing production values on this record - with little background static.
Overall a fantastically well preserved example of this increasingly scarce double LP.
