PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
Original Master Of Puppets pressing on Elektra with printed lyric inner. LP is VG+ with a few barely visible paper scuffs. Cover is VG+ as well with just a hint of ring. Now the real reason you're reading this. An incredibly rare, fully intact(!) original two-sided, three panel in-store promotional display used to promote the original Monsters Of Rock Tour back in 1988. Beautiful condition with no tears, splits, bends or creases, just a few tiny staple holes. The tour kicked off just north of me in East Troy, Wisconsin (I live in Chicago) and Van Halen landed in a helicopter! Halen headlined the show but one look around left no doubt who the fans were there to see. Nothing but long hair and denim vests mother fucker. Metallica blew everyone away. In all my years of collecting Metallica I have never seen another one of these. Rare as hens teeth. I used 2 displays for the photo in order to show both sides of it but only one is included in the auction as these are extremely rare and I am keeping one for my own private collection. These were purchased from a former Tower Records employee who told me 99% of these displays were tossed after they were displayed or never displayed at all and then tossed. Staff saw them as disposable swag and clutter and as a result VERY few survived. Absolutely zero Google hits. Don't sleep. You won't see one of these again anytime soon if ever at all.
I USE GOLDMINE GRADING: MINT (SEALED) NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++: VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE VG+: AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG: STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR: FILLER COPY ONLY. LOTS OF SCRATCHES
