The 'holy grail' of Ride The Lightning presses:
- Megaforce label
- Membership/merchandise insert (first 10,000 copies)
- A1/A1 matrix
US LP 1984 original pressing of Metallica Ride The Lightning on Megaforce label with "For Whom The Bells Toll" on back cover. Includes original inner sleeve. This was one of the first 10,000 copies pressed which includes the membership/merchandise insert.
This is the A1/A1 variant. The runout is:

I am the original owner and bought it from a record store that was going out of business in 1985 (along with Cirith Ungol's Frost and Fire LP). I have kept the LP in a Discwasher VRP inner sleeve and the album in a Japanese resealable Mylar sleeve. I played it back then to make a tape (which was worn out from overplaying) and played it again 37 years later to play-grade.
Wow. Crank it up!
LP grading (play and visual): M-/NM. No skips or stops. Vinyl looks great. Labels are clean. I don't rate open LPs as mint, but this one comes very close. If you aren't satisfied with this LP, you should move to one of the digital formats.
Cover grading: VG+. Nice cover with no tears or seam splits. Three corners have some wear. One corner has a small ding. Some creasing in the front bottom right side and the rear bottom right side. There is a line in the back that looks like someone used a ballpoint pen with no ink. I tried my best to take a photo of it, but it is hard to see.
Inner items:. Original inner sleeve is VG+. No major folds. There is a 1.5" (3.8 cm) split on the middle right edge when looking at the lyric sheet side. Insert for Metal Militia Membership is M-/NM with no folds with some minor wrinkling in one corner. Label: Megaforce Catalog: MRI 769
