Description
Meteor 5014: Bud Deckelman with the Daydreamers, Let's not pretend / Daydreamin'.
Very scarce original red label first press from 1955. Recorded late 1954 in Meteor Studios on Chelsea Avenue, Memphis Tennessee. Bud Deckelman (vcl); X Deckelman (gtr); Quinton Claunch (gtr); Bill Cantrell (fiddle); Dan Chambers (bs); Eddie X (steel gtr).
This is the legendary record that Sam C Phillips at SUN records 'passed' although he mastered it for his competitors at Meteor. Reportedly this was one of the few deals he really regretted. Both sides are and plays perfectly and grades M- with full gloss.
Both labels are exceptionally clean with thin (almost invisible) writing and grades M-.
I grade: M / M- / VG+ / VG / VG- / G+ and I will not list records of lesser grade that that.
