Continuing my trawl through a box of library albums I’ve had sitting in the storeroom for a decade or so, we come to a real gem!

Fantastic album of acoustic solo guitar pieces from the wonderful Michael Chapman. All tracks are in various different blues styles and played with the brilliance that you would associate with a guitarist of Chapman’s stature. As far as I’m aware all tracks are only available here and were never available to the public making this an essential addition to any Michael Chapman collection as well as any collection of solo guitar albums, if you collect Fahey, Basho, Renbourn, Jansch etc then this is for you but if you miss this copy then where are you going to find another?

For those who don’t know music library albums were produced for distribution to TV and radio production companies to provide ready made incidental music. They were made in small numbers and were never available to the public. Subsequently library albums are among the hardest records to track down with some titles selling for very large amounts of music on the rare occasions that they surface, I’m not after huge amounts of money for this one though!

The generic sleeve is in Excellent condition. The front with it’s generic design is mostly clean, there are a few very light dirty marks but nothing really of any consequence. There’s also the very beginnings of some ringwear which probably wouldn’t show on a sleeve with a darker design, I’m storing the record and sleeve separately to stop this getting any worse.

The rear sleeve is in similar nice condition with no damage or wear of any type other than a few very light dirty marks which are not serious.

The top and bottom seams are both totally unworn as is the spine (which does not have any writing on it).

The record itself is also in lovely condition. It’s extremely clean and has obviously not been played much. There are no visible surface marks anywhere, even when held under a very revealing harsh lamp. When played the sound is clear and clean with no audible defects of any type present, no groovewear or distortion, no jumping or sticking, no pops clicks or crackles. This is a lovely copy of a very rare and very fabulous album which is only for sale as I have another copy in my own collection.

There will be another Michael Chapman library only LP coming soon so please keep looking!
