Off The Wall LP
Epic Records, 1979
This is the original first pressing of Michael Jackson's solo debut album from 1979.
It has never been opened and is still sealed in the factory plastic.
This copy was originally owned by the radio station DC101 in Washington, DC.
It was kept there as a backup copy from the days when they played records on the air.
This practice was eventually phased out and the record was never opened.
My uncle had a friend who worked at the station and while visiting him at work one day,
he was allowed to browse through the old records and take several of them home.
Recognizing this as a collector's item, we never opened it.
It looks beatiful. It's been stored flat in an air conditioned home.
There is only some minor wear on the corners, which you can't see looking at the face.
