Fantastic "concrète melodrama" made out of electronic sounds and processed voices, realized for tape at the legendary INA-GRM studios by this French experimental composer who started out as Pierre Schaeffer's assistant. Part of the sought-after Collection GRM series curated by François Bayle, this lp was winner of the Grand prix du disque 1978.

Chion is a French composer and audio-visual theorist who created the "concrète melodrama" form of experimental electronic radioplay composition and worked in various positions at the INA-GRM, beginning in 1970 as assistant to Pierre Schaeffer; the INA-GRM was a center of study for electroacoustic pioneers like Pierre Henry, Francois Bayle, Luc Ferrari, Francois Bernard Mache, Ivo Malec, Bernard Parmegiani, Michel Redolfi, Jean-Claude Risset, Ragnar Grippe, Jon Appleton, Jean Michel Jarre, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Edgar Varese, and Iannis Xenakis.

Packing I pack professionally and with the utmost care drawn from years of experience trading vinyl internationally. I use new record mailers from Cameron Packaging (which I have determined are the best and most protective) reinforced with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap padding. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves and with the vinyl outside of the cover to prevent damage. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. Unless requested, no paper invoice is included in the package, both to save trees and to avoid customs difficulties. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.
