Comments: Obscure Michigan label. Doubt you will find a much better copy! A-side is a relaxed mid- to up-tempo rock version of the evergreen where a ‘wirey’ guitar with heavy echo takes the lead. The B-side, which seems to attract more interest by now, is up-tempo with a surf feel, even though this record pre-dates the start of the surf-era. There is an interesting duet between a guitar and a sax in the first chorus. Later the sax takes a solo. There’s a drum solo at the start which is repeated towards the end.

Provenance: One of the 60,000 records from the late Detroit D.J. Tom Knight’s collection, infamously auctioned off at Doyle, NY in the early part of 1999.
