Description

Hi diggers of baroque folk,

This time I have a batch of baroque folk LP's for auction. This style of music got some attention recently through the LP of our dutch Jacco Gardner and the UK Ian Skelly LP. But the start & highlights of this genry laid way back in the end of the sixties/begin seventies. The ultimate example of this style is of course Nick Drake. It's hard to describe, but mostly it's fragile melodic folk accompanied by strings & other orchestral instruments.

I start with this very rare dutch LP: an american guy from LA came to Holland and recorded this LP in the Phonogram studios in Hilversum. At the same time the Nacht & Ontij LP of Boudewijn de Groot was recorded. The Bert Paige Orchestra assisted on both LP's. Musically, what can I say, has all the ingredients of baroque folk: tablas,12-string, mellow voice, little orkestration behind. In one word "great".

Vinyl looks & plays exellent, no scratches or pops. Under a strong light: a couple little faint hairlines, which do not affect the play. This copy was used for the recent CD-reissue. Cover is also EX; little wear at the edges, but not disturbing; overall this thick cardboard cover is very shiny. Amazing for a record of this age. I noticed that Mike is still alive & well; he reacted on his own recordings at RYM, a couple of years ago.

I start with a reasonable price for this ultra rare LP (hasn't been sold last 3 years at Ebay!)

Goodluck bidding!
