"Midnight Sun" is The Dimensions "under cover" and was the #6 45 under the Audio Unlimited banner.
Their first Band was formed in 1964 in high school. They, at one time took the name 4 Dimensions. A few years later, along came the 5th. Dimension with "Up, Up and Away". They wanted to make a record in my studio using the name "Dimensions" and red flag. Turns out, I had recorded a local group known as "The Dimensions" also with a female vocalist. So on the spot, they became known as "Midnight Sun". I have the history of this band's morphing through the end when 2 original musicians formed a new band known as "Jam." I have loads of photos, press releases, and posters. I will include FULL-SCALE COPIES of everything on file. Way after this disk was cut you'll find a reference to "Midnight Sun" in at least one clipping.
This is last in the "Sonic" series. "You Keep Me Hangin' On" is a great cover of the Vanilla Fudge's arrangement with Linda Wiley who sounds like an early Grace Slick wannabe. "I'll find a way" is hard to describe. The vocalist is very "Elvis" rhythm resembles Tom Jones "It's Not Unusual" with decent harmony. Very good sound...full. Note the "Plug Side" became "I'll find A Way."
The group consisted of Ron Besaw, Lead Git & Voice like Elvis; Linda Wiley Vocalist / Harmony; John Irish, Guitar; Greg Rades, Keyboard; Doug Engel, Bass / Harmony and Pat Kenny, Drums. I have a complete folio for the group including posters and many photos. Note the few samples shown.
Vinyl is G+. Label is VG+
There was only one other 45 issued under the "Audio Unlimited" brand. David Yonker's record (#7) followed this one and is currently for sale (no auction).
