A cult classic of British psychedelia. Mighty Baby evolved from the legendary mod / R&B band The Action, and this self-titled debut is prized for its extended, jazz-inflected psychedelic guitar workouts. Produced by Guy Stevens (later of The Clash’s “London Calling”), with gatefold artwork by Martin Sharp (of Cream’s “Disraeli Gears”).
This is the US pressing on Head Records (LPS-025), 1970 – gatefold, stereo, distributed by Chess / GRT. A more affordable route into this record than the very scarce UK Head original (HDLS 6002).
