Description
Mike Oldfield Tubular bells 1973 Virgin 12” Vinyl Album LP. Doing a bit of research on Discogs I think this might be a first pressing. Sleeve is laminated and the labels are black and white. The matrix runouts are Side One: V-2001-A, Side Two: V-2001-B (further information from Discogs regarding this version can be found at the bottom of this page). Although I buy/collect records myself I’m no expert so it might be wise to do your own research regarding this vinyl, I have hopefully provided enough photos/information to go off :) Anyway, on to condition/how it plays: Record is very good with some light marks. They are not deep scratches and cannot be felt with your finger and are only really noticeable under light. They seem more the type of marks from years of taking it in and out the sleeve kinda thing. Side One label has some writing, looks like a name. I have no idea whether this is a unique identifier of this version or if a previous owner has wrote their name on. If it is the latter, it looks to be in pencil so might be removable/erase-able. The vinyl itself plays with no skips/jumps with some slight, occasional surface noise. This is really mostly noticeable when the needle first hits the record and during some quieter moments, but is minimal and almost none existent most of the time. Would probably benefit from a clean if you have the means. The sleeve is also very good, a nice example for its age, with just a few slight age related marks/stains/creases. Please see photos. Thanks for looking and any question, please ask. Please see my other listings. Buy multiple items and postage will always be combined :)

This is claimed to be the first pressing, prior to the black & white label EMI pressings, and pressed by Lyntone. The EMI pressings have the characteristic EMI stamped matrix run-outs e.g. V 2001 A-2U, V 2001 B-3U; in this case the matrices are faintly hand etched.

1740939 Cover printed by E. J. Day Group.

Tracks are listed as SIDE 1 and SIDE 2 on the cover, followed by the relevant instruments and guest musician lists. On this version the tracks are simply credited as Side One and Side Two on the labels.
