Description

Rare collector's item of original soundtrack of Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1945 film Spellbound, starring Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck, with a score by Miklos Rozsa (78 r.p.m. album of four 10-inch records with the scenes/songs of Prelude, Dementia, Love Themes, Scherzo, Terror on the Ski Run, Subconscious and Concerto. In original photo-album-style bound case (some wear over 70 years). This has been in our family since original purchase and safely stored on a bookshelf. Hitchcock's face appears on inside cover with his liner notes, including "Psychologists tell us that the basic mental emotions in the newborn chld are primarily caused by sound. Fear, for example, first manifests itself as the result of sound which is unfamiliar or startling. The growing importance of Music in Motion Pictures, therefore, cannot be overestimated, for through the medium of sound, the intelligent composer has a device by means of which he can actually create within the hearer some of the emotion visible on screen..."
