DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION
The 1970 original versions of Bitches Brew were released with the 1960's red & white 2 eye labels. The represses, also from 1970 used the new 1970's red and orange labels. The catalog number also changed from GP 26 to PG 26 during this year. This record has both numbers - GP 26 on the labels and inside the gatefold, with the new catalog number stickered on the spine. I haven't been able to figure out the pressing plant from the matrix numbers on the trail out. The matrix number on disc 1, side 1 is stamped: XSM152412-1C and etched: 1 (or I) S - which probably indicates Santa Maria pressing.Vinyl is a very solid VG+ with no scratches, very glossy vinyl and just a few very light, barely visible hairlines. There is no visible spindle wear. This record has been played, but always with care and proper handling. The cover has ring wear and light edge and corner wear, but no splits, tears, markings, or stains.
