Description
This rare and highly sought-after Miles Davis LP, "Birth Of The Cool", is a must-have for any jazz vinyl collection. Recorded in 1960, this first pressing edition features 33 RPM speed and a 12" record size. The vinyl material is of the highest quality, graded as Mint (M) for the record and sleeve. The paper insert is graded Near Mint (NM) because it is slightly yellowed from age. I'm not sure, by looking at this record, that it has ever been played.
Other than the slight yellowing of the paper insert it looks like it could have just came out of the record store. The cloudy areas on the record photos is reflections of the clouds in the sky and my white glove. I took the photos outside to shed as much light as I could on the record so you could see how perfect it is.
The LP showcases the iconic artist's talents with cool jazz and boasts a unique style that would later become known as jazz fusion. The record label, Capitol, and the release title add to the overall value of this piece. In addition, the LP features color ban labels and is a mono edition, making it a true gem for collectors. All of the jazz records that we list are from a collection we acquired when we bought a furnished house from the estate of an elderly couple who built the house I 1954 after returning from military service. They had no children and really enjoyed jazz music. Most of the collection appears to be from the late 50s and early 60s. All of the albums were stored in a hall closet, not in a basement or garage.
