Miles Davis - Filles De Kilimanjaro
(CBS Records S63551 UK Stereo LP 1968)
This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. It has a heavyweight front laminated sleeve. This is actually a "Mono" UK sleeve. It would originally have had a small gold company "Stereo" sticker on the rear sleeve. This is how all UK CBS Stereo LP's of the period came. The sticker, over time, has fallen off. So, essentially it is now a UK Mono sleeve. It comes with its original company paper inner sleeve. This advertises other CBS LP's available at the time. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has smooth orange CBS labels. The record has 1st press SBPG 63551 A1/ SBPG 63551 B2 matrix stampers.
This is a genuine UK original Stereo pressing. An excellent late 1960's Jazz Fusion/ Jazz Rock/ Post Bop LP. I have some other rare & collectable 1960's, early 1970's UK and USA Jazz LP's for sale too. This includes several other UK original Miles Davis LP's. So please see my other listings.
Sleeve: There is some mild or more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This is not too noticeable. There is a very feint horizontal hairline crease that seems to go across the entirety of the front sleeve. It doesn't seem to affect the rear sleeve at all. Again, it is not too noticeable. There is light, very mild or very minor finger-tip marks or staining on the rear sleeve on some areas. There is mild fading to the spine. Otherwise, the spine is fine. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good condition
Vinyl: There are two light or very mild hairline surface marks on Side 1. These measure 2 cm and 1 cm in length. There is a 2 cm hairline surface mark on Side 2. There are a couple of longer hairline surface rub marks too. These can hardly be seen under a strong light. Otherwise, there are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a couple of small areas of more moderate surface sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, on Side 1. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, a strong Very Good condition. The labels are in Very Near Excellent condition & show light or mild spindle wear only. The company paper inner sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall & Excellent in many places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There are 3 or 4 mild clicks toward the end of Side 2. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.
