Here is about as nice of a copy of an original Mono Sketches of Spain you could find as far as the vinyl goes. Columbia CL 1480 was released in 1960 and these tube mastered and cut LP's are some of the best sounding jazz records ever made. This copy plays Near Mint with a super clean glossy surface with no scuffs or scratches...period! Only a couple of spindle marks tells me that this has barely been played. It sounds so good I had to play this all the way through (both sides) as I was mesmerized. Only a few very low levels ticks on the lead in on one side and before one track. Otherwise...Mint! This is part of a jazz collection I bought many years ago where all the records were pristine and played like new. The cover is pretty nice, but has some ringwear on the front. The cover is decent but the record is outstanding. In the run out groove XLP49957-1AE and XLP49956-1J. Could be yours...There is a re-issue of this and many other classic jazz LP's but most are made from digital masters and just do not sound very good. Buyer beware!! This has been cleaned on a pro VPI 17F record cleaning machine which vastly lowers the noise floor and improves the sound of any record dramatically. While eBay requires us to post Media Mail at $4 I highly encourage any US buyer to pay $7 extra and use Priority Mail as it is a much faster service and records get much better treatment during shipping. Media Mail can also be very slow at times (up to two weeks) while Priority Mail is 2-3 days anywhere in the US. No hassle return policy.
