Description

An original 1st stereo press of MD IP on the USA CBS label from 1961. The heavy-set vinyl [double] comes housed in a heavy-card <stereo> cover printed in USA. Also included are both original CB advertising inner sleeves. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and have clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few superficial marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. A really sweet player which does a fantastic job of rendering this performance in all its full glory. These early heavy-set pressings sound fab...the percussion is awesome. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Interference is pretty much non-existent. I would expect nothing more than the very occasional errant crackle in the very isolated moment. It's a low-mileage copy for sure and you'd struggle finding a better preserved example.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) These early hard-card cover really are a thing to behold. Front and back are pretty much immaculate with no creasing or surface wear. Both sides are perfectly flat and this, no doubt, is aided by the heavy-card employed. The interior looks absolutely great and has almost totally avoided the ageing process. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent - all I can make out is a minuscule amount on one opening. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. You really would be hard pushed to even equal the standard offered by this example.
Inners (Ex) Amazingly they are pretty much unaged and have not split at the edges.
