Description
Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue.
This is a 1965 manufactured and released in the UK stereo edition of Miles' Kind of Blue. At the time of advertising, between Discogs and eBay there are no other exact examples of this issue for sale. I have confirmed the '420' numbers in the run out designating the Philips, Walthamstom pressing plant responsible for its production. The record has been in our family since new under fathers stewardship until his passing 10yrs ago. It has only been stored upright in his rack since new and safely away from any heat sources. Inspecting the record reveals a slice of vinyl in excellent shape. There is a minor, un-feelable scratch to side one and a spot on side two that needs cleaning which doesnt look like a manufacture defect. The spindle holes and labels show zero signs of use as does the vast majority of the playing surfaces bar the aforementioned spots really. I also know for absolute certain its not had any play since 1983 since we moved to our current home and that would show in its excellent condition. Given a good clean, this 55yr old record will surely scrub up very nicely and i would expect playback very nicely too, though not posessing either a player or cleaner at the moment i cannot play it to be certain.
As to the sleeve it is laminated front and sides to rear with a card rear. There is no damage or splits to any part and it shows minimal storage wear being in great shape. The inner paper sleeve is poly lined undamaged and still doing its job but could be bettered by a nice Mofi antistat should one feel rhe need. Overall this is great example of decent repress of a very fine album making for a nice find indeed!
The price reflects its condition, history, rarity and what ive seen one copy sold for in the past.... not sentiment... ive got enough copies already!
