Miles Davis - Kind of Blue LP2 Classic Records 200g Sealed Hobson Archive Edition 2/2
Alright Miles Davis nuts and record collectors, here is the only time you will see this. So what is it?
A couple history lessons... 1) The owner of Classic Records Michael Hobson kept a vault of two sealed copies of everything they ever pressed. Numbered 1 & 2 with an Archive Copy sticker. 2) When Chad from Acoustic Sounds bought Classic Records, he also bought the vault of sealed copies and did a sale, which is where this came from 3) Sometime in the mid 90s, people discovered that the tapes of the first side of Kind of Blue had always been played a bit fast (or was it slow?) on every existing copy. With KOB currently in print from Classic Records, they did a small number of 2LP copies, which added speed corrected versions of the first three songs on Side C at 33rpm, and added an alternate take of Flamenco Sketches on side D at 45rpm.
This is that copy from the Hobson Archives. I have no record that this was ever sold by itself. I believe both sides were mastered by Bernie Grundman.
