Description
Miles Davis "Porgy and Bess" 1959 Columbia CL 1274 mono. An early release of this classic, under the direction of Gil Evans. Identifying marks: songs are center justified on label, runout on first side is stamped with XLP44661-2D with an etched H 1, and the second side is etched with XLP-44662-2C with an etched H 1, all of which which makes me think this is an unusual copy (can't find any just like it on Discogs). Sleeve is in wonderful condition, still nice and shiny, some light scuff on the back (see photos), a little light damage on the bottom edge, an Excellent minus (EX-) overall. Vinyl is visually really clean, with some very light scratches on side A, only revealed in strong light; playing back with just some occasional pops on first side, fewer on the second, but otherwise a quiet experience, a strong Very Good plus (VG+). Just cleaned with a VPI wet-vac system. I'll pay the shipping via USPS Media Mail.
