Description

This amazing Mosaic Records vinyl box set (MQ5-209)  #34 of 3500 issued is long out of print. Remastered and pressed on 180 gm vinyl it contains everything they recorded between September 1968 and February 1968. I am the original owner. The box and Lp's are all NM and have been cleaned with Disc Doctor-- yes I clean new Lp's too. The booklet has slight water damage, from a small amount spilled water, but no loss of color or any other problem.  It may  flatten out if put between a stack of records or a couple of books. In any case no blurred words or anything. Most sides played only once and a few probably a couple of times. They were played on a high end turntable using a Micro Benz LP or Ruby cartridge. Some cuts have a slight tape hiss due to quiet songs. Mosaic decided not to de-hiss as this would remove some high frequencies and lessen the integrity of the music. This is described in the booklet.

Many considered that Miles was straying from true jazz by moving in this direction which preceded the release of Bitches Brew an album which convinced them he had. You'll be glad he did as the music here is, at times, transformational. It is quite interesting to compare the versions included on the original Lp and the other versions in this set. The group is composed of Miles, John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul heard on the right, Chick Corea, who you will hear on the left, Jack DeJohnette, and Dave Holland. Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter appear on some cuts also. Great stuff!!! The original Lp gets 5 stars in All Music Guide and it's review talks about this box set. www.allmusic.com.

The picture is a scan of the booklet. Shipping will obviously have to be more than the normal $4.00 which is for one Lp and this box contains 5 records.
