Personnel: Miles Davis (trumpet), J.J. Johnson (trombone), Horace Silver (piano), Percy Heath (bass), Art Blakey (drums). Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, March 6, 1954.
This is one of the legendary early 10” Blue Note LPs, coveted by collectors worldwide. Deep groove labels with “LONG PLAYING MICROGROOVE”, classic Lexington Ave. style, and laminated front cover with Francis Wolff photography & Reid Miles typography – the very DNA of Blue Note’s golden age.
Condition:
• Jacket: VG+ (light shelf wear, age toning, very presentable).
• Vinyl: VG (visible scuffs and hairlines; plays through with surface noise but no skips). A strong player copy of a very scarce original.
These early Blue Note 10” LPs rarely surface in the wild anymore, especially in collectible condition. An essential piece of jazz history, marking Miles Davis’ development in the early 1950s alongside Horace Silver and Art Blakey – a true bridge to the hard bop era.
