Miles Davis plays with the Modern Jazz Quartet here. Apparently, this was the only time Davis ever recorded with Thelonius Monk. These two apparently didn't get along too well. A lot of others played on the album as well, including John Coltrane and Red Garland.
This is the original Prestige mono LP. It has the initials RVG in the dead wax - both sides. Really nice copy!The record, which I vacuum cleaned on a Nitty Gritty machine, is played very little if at all and is clean and still has a lot of shine. It's basically free of damage except for some very light hairline marks in a few places that cause hardly any noise. I've played the record once and it plays through beautifully, with no skips. The cover is heavy cardboard with a laminated front surface. No ring wear or other physical damage except tor a 3 inch seam split in the bottom middle.
