M. on a night before Christmas in Sutton Hall at Milligan College. There has been a bee-hive of activity for several hours in an attempt to convert the Dining Hall into a romantic, candle-lit, baronial banquet hall. There is a hush as the four spotlighted trumpeters make their way down the long aisle and up the ramp for the first fanfare. The lords and ladies in authentically designed medieval attire enter singing ’’Deck the Hall” to the delight of the waiting public. Thus begins what is probably one of the most lavishly beautiful evenings ever seen. The fanfares continue announcing the Wassail bowl, the Boar’s head, the Flaming Plum Pudding, and finally the Carol Concert. Every part of the madri- gal evening has been researched, from the menu to the extraordinary costumes and music in an attempt to create an authentic Medieval evening.
